To mark the publication of his new autobiography, The Soundtrack of My Life (Simon & Schuster; February 19, 2013), Clive Davis joins The Roxy Theatre on March 21st from 6-8pm for a behind the scenes of his incredible life orchestrating careers, creating stars and building musical empires several times over, taking us behind the scenes with fascinating anecdotes about some of the most talented musicians of the last sixty years.
Davis’ career has spanned more than forty years, and he has discovered, signed, or worked with a staggering array of artists: Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Simon and Garfunkel, Barry Manilow, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Dionne Warwick, Carlos Santana, The Grateful Dead, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Aretha Franklin, to name a few. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, and hosted the world’s highest profile parties.
The Q&A will be moderated by Tom Sturges.
Proceeds from this special event will benefit MusiCares®, a nonprofit organization established by The Recording Academy® in 1989, to help music people in need and is presented in part by the Los Angeles Chapter of National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
