Amber Riley stars as “Mercedes Jones,” New Directions’ powerhouse vocalist with diva attitude on FOX’s hit musical comedy “GLEE.” In just two seasons, “GLEE” has quickly become a pop-culture phenomenon and boasts critical acclaim with two Platinum and two Gold albums, two Grammy Award nominations, more than 16 million song downloads, the record for the most titles on the Billboard Hot 100 by a non-solo act (beating out The Beatles) and the No. 1 soundtrack of 2010 ("The Christmas Album"). The series has also been honored with a Peabody Award; Golden Globes for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical in 2010 and 2011; a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series; and a People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Comedy.

Amber was recently nominated for an individual NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy series. In 2010, she received the Most Popular Geek Award at AOL’s 1st Annual Geek Awards and was nomianted for a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV: Female Scene Stealer.

Amber got her first break when Ryan Murphy cast her in the pilot "St. Sass." Although the pilot was not picked up, she was able to use that experience to land a role on the television series "Cedric The Entertainer Presents.” She has performed in numerous theater productions, including "Alice in Wonderland," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Into The Woods" and "Mystery on the Docks" with the Los Angeles Opera.
Amber currently serves are a Ambassdor for VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation and is a member of Seventeen Magazine’s Body Peace Council.
